On August 15, 2016, the BTW Tornadoes football team kicked-off the 2016 season with a dinner at Nami's Japanese Restaurant. Invited to the kick-off dinner were the BTW Booster and The BTW Alumni Athlete Club, Inc. Michael Vick gave a motivational words of encouragement to the team.

Founded in 1986, the Booker T. Washington High School Alumni Athlete Club was organized and spear-headed by Freddie "Jabo" Johnson and Coach Robert Wilcox.
A small group of athletes soon developed with the intent of recognizing former student-athletes, coaches, trainers, administrators and other individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the athletic program. On Saturday, April 22, 1989, Coach James Everett was the first inductee.
What We Do
The Booker T. Washington Alumni Athlete Club has taken an oath to preserve the names of any athlete who went beyond the call of duty both on the field and off the field providing motivation for our youth.
As part of keeping history alive and informing others about outstanding athletes who would have never been known or remembered, the BTW Alumni Athlete Club established its "Hall of Fame" awards. Each athlete's name is inscribed on a plaque and placed in the Hall of Fame Gallery. The Gallery is located on campus in the gymnasium. We honor athletes in track and field, swimming, cheerleading, football, basketball and tennis.
It is the gratitude and continued support that many of these athletes give to our youth that encourage them to continue to excel.
